I'm from Holland, Pennsylvania and have worked for several years in public schools as a school psychologist; I hold three master's degrees (School Psychology, Educational Psychology, and Business). Through my work in this environment, I've had the opportunity to work with students of all ages. I've been particularly drawn to the challenges faced by special needs students, since I have worked in that area. I like to use a number of learning techniques to help students when I am tutoring them; ranging from using basic pen and paper, to discussions, to computer-based strategies. This flexibility allows me to develop a style that will work for each individual student and allow them to develop knowledge in a way that works best for their learning style. Making the experience fun and building a child's self-confidence are very important to me in my work as a tutor, as I believe they help to get the best results. The subjects I am available to help with are College Essays, Elementary Math, Grammar and Mechanics, Middle School Math, Phonics, Reading, Special Education, and more. I have a busy family life that includes spending time with my children, cycling, trying new recipes, and scrapbooking. I also like to go out to restaurants with friends.
