Experience
When I was in high school I desperately needed help with math. I got a tutor and ended up in honors math by junior year and even started enjoying the subject. My tutor helped me immensely and I want to be able to help other students in the same way with the subjects I know best. Though my degree is in Secondary Social Studies Education, I am certified to teach both History and English at the secondary level (7-12), so I am able to tutor some of the main problem areas of reading and writing, along with vocabulary, literature, and grammar. I volunteered in youth group at local church for 5 years, so I'm able to build one-on-one relationships with adolescents and can be trusted with students. I achieved AP scores of 4 in English Literature and English Composition, and a score of 3 in AP German, which all counted towards my undergraduate degree. I took the GRE and got accepted to a graduate school as a graduate assistant with a scholarship based on my achievements: GRE Verbal: 160 GRE Quantitative: 153 GRE Writing: 5.5
